Chairman
Information systems Department
King Saud University

“King Saud University signed the Academic Alliance Memorandum of Agreement with on the 4th of February, 2014.

We were the pioneers in introducing the Cloud Infrastructure and Big Data courses for both under and postgrad students, and as a result, KSU had the first sixteen Academic Associate certified students across Saudi Arabia.

I am very pleased with these accomplishments and proud to see KSU students thriving towards the professional understanding of Virtualization and Big Data aspects based on open technology curricula.”

Prof. Dr. Hussam Ramadan

EMC Academic Consultant
Advisor and Director General of Planning, Ministry of Higher Education, Professor and former dean, College of Computer and Information Sciences
King Saud University

“EMC Academic Alliance (EAA) opts to prepare Saudi IT computing students to be the next generation of IT professionals specialized in virtualized and cloud environments. EAA is a global Educational service that collaborates with colleges and universities worldwide to help prepare students for successful careers in IT. The Academic Alliance program offers unique ‘open’ curriculum-based education on technology topics such as cloud computing, big data analytics, and information storage and management.

In Saudi Arabia, EAA curricula have been successfully adopted by tens of top universities, public and private, at both BS and MS levels. Hundreds of Saudi students are currently studying topics covered by EAA in their IT colleges. Moreover, EAA courses offered at Saudi universities have been augmented with a unique hands-on experience offered by VMware technology provided free-of-charge through the VMware IT Academy. This educational bundle has been received quite well by hundreds of Saudi IT students. More and more students who complete EAA courses at their universities take and pass EMC certification examinations. Professional certification is becoming crucial for survival in today’s IT job market.

To support the success of its curricula adoption, the EAA program invests heavily in Train-the-Trainer instructor-led courses for faculty. EAA also supports the Saudi academic community with a multitude of technical activities and events, such as public technical sessions and global design contests.

Although EAA is a new comer to the Saudi higher education IT community, it has been progressing in great strides and making its way confidently to reinforce IT curricula. As a matter of fact, EAA represents an impressive model for achieving the strategic goal of creating successful partnerships between Saudi higher education institutions and world industry leaders.

I am looking forward to witnessing the implementation of the EAA program all over Saudi Arabia.”

“EMC has the vision to collaborate with all Saudi Universities to help prepare students for their successful careers in a transforming IT industry with deep hands on experience in Virtualization and Big Data sciences, but without your support we would not be able to achieve what we are looking for.

So let me seize this chance to thank each and every university, president, dean and teaching professor for believing and realizing the EMC vision. I hope our partnership stays strong and continues to grow and prosper.

We will stay focused on the current registered universities in addition to attracting new universities to join us on our journey to shape IT leaders in Saudi Arabia.”
